August & September Award Winners – Richard Schubert & Family, Andrew Conner, James Flannery Family

AUGUST AWARD WINNERS – Richard Schubert (Knight of the Month), Richard and Teresa Shubert (Family of the Month)
Richard Schubert became a 1st-degree knight in 2013. He has been active in many of our activities. This year specifically, he volunteered to head up a brand-new fundraising program for the council. In that effort, not only did he organize and deliver a successful new program, but he and his team made the council the outstanding performer in this year’s Peach & Pear sales. In fact, with his leadership, the council ended up finishing first out of all the councils despite this being our first year. This Sir Knight showed by his selfless and exemplary efforts he is an example of how the Knights of Columbus and our council live up to the true meaning of being a Knight. For this reason, I am pleased and honored to present Richard Schubert with our July 2022 Knight of the month award!

This is an unusual month. Knowing that none of us, as knights, can be our best without the support and encouragement of our spouses, our family of the month will sound very familiar. In appreciation for the combined efforts this past few months including their team support in the delivery phase of our Peach & Pear fundraising campaign this year, based on their work over the last few months and the successful completion of our fundraising efforts it is my pleasure to award Richard and Teresa Schubert with our award for Family of the Month!

SEPTEMBER AWARD WINNERS – Andrew Conder (Knight of the Month), James and Natalie Flannery (Family of the Month)
Sir Knight Andrew Conder became a knight in 2012. He has been active as a knight in many of our activities and is often seen joining the knights early on Sunday mornings to assist with our Burrito fundraising. Most recently, this knight volunteered to lead a project to help our council meet a request for assistance from our local catholic elementary school. Without hesitation, he worked directly with a local business manager and arranged for a substantial donation that exceeded the school’s request and not only aided the students but also made the knights look like heroes! This Sir Knight showed by his selfless and exemplary efforts he is an example of how the Knights of Columbus and our council live up to the true meaning of being a Knight. For this reason, I am pleased and honored to present Andrew Conder with our Knight of the month award!

James Flannery joined the knights near the end of 2014. Both he and his wife Natalie are often seen involved in parish activities. As a knight, he is also a familiar face at knight’s activities as well. Most recently they have been instrumental in working to install a new program before masses in our parish. It is these kinds of activities that demonstrate how knights, and their families live out their faith in an active and meaningful way. Based upon their work of the last few months and the beginning of this new program of rosary prior to weekend masses, it is my honor to present James and Natalie Flannery with our award for Family of the Month!
