July 2024 Awards – Charley Walker and Lori & Steve Black

We present the Knight of the Month award to recognize members that stand out in the virtues of our order in service to the Church and Community.
For several years, Charley Walker has served faithfully as Warden of our council and as Warden for Charity, Unity and Fraternity Exemplifications. He performs these duties with grace and always exceeds what he is called upon to do. Last month, he and another Knight cleaned out and inventoried the shed, which our council uses to store equipment used for the service to the parish and community. In addition, Charley is often involved in cooking for council and parish events. This year, as in the past, he took on the team lead responsibility for barbecuing for the parish picnic.
Charley, on behalf of the council, we thank you greatly for all that you do.

We present the Family of the Month award to recognize families that exemplify the virtues of charity, unity, and fraternity, serving as a beacon of faith and service within our community.
Today, we recognize Steve and Lori Black as our Family of the Month. Steve and Lori are pillars of our parish and the broader community, demonstrating unwavering dedication and selflessness in their activities with the Church Community.
Steve is a model hospitality minister at Our Lady of the Pines, always ready with a warm smile and a helping hand. His commitment to making everyone feel welcome is a testament to his generous spirit. Additionally, Steve is deeply involved with the “That Man Is You” program, where he contributes to fostering spiritual growth and brotherhood among the men of our parish. His participation has helped other men to grow in their faith and become better husbands, fathers, and community leaders.
Lori’s contributions are very commendable. As a Sacristan at OLP, she ensures that our liturgical celebrations are conducted with reverence and precision, which shows her deep faith and love for the Church. Lori is also actively involved with Mater Filius at St. Gabriel Church, a ministry dedicated to supporting pregnant women in need. Her compassionate service and commitment to this cause have made a significant impact, offering hope and support to many women and their families.
Steve and Lori, thank you greatly for all that you do.
