Our Council, 11730, received a special Star Award for our involvement in four areas: Community Programs, Faith Program, Family Programs, and Life Programs. Congratulations to the Weir Family and Don Koveleski

The award for Family of the Month goes to : Matt and Shilo Weir.
They are a couple who have exemplified the spirit of service and dedication to our parish community by taking on our Oktoberfest fellowship dinner. Preparatory activities started at the September meeting. Your tireless efforts made our Oktoberfest a resounding success. Matt, you recognized the need to get 4:30 PM Mass attendees interested in the event early, so you advertised at the end of the Masses. Your ability to relate to the public and commitment to this event was truly inspiring. From the initial planning stages to the final cleanup, you were always there, lending a hand and offering your expertise. Your willingness to take on any task was instrumental in the event’s success. Shilo, thank you for being a co-conspirator helping set up and work the Oktoberfest. Matt and Shilo, your positive attitude and enthusiasm were contagious, uplifting the Knights and guests who participated. Your dedication made Oktoberfest a memorable experience for the sixty to seventy guests who enjoyed it immensely. You are not only role models for our fellow Knights but also an inspiration to our entire community.

This month’s Knight of the Month award goes to: Don Koveleski.
Just recently, Don increased his volunteerism enough to stand out among his brothers. At the last meeting, he brought to our attention a resource to help us with our Veterans Day observance. Even though putting tall Flags at the church parking lot entrances was canceled of deep snow, we’ll probably use that resource that he and Andy Conder provide for other patriotic holidays in the future. When the Ladies needed help with the new After Mass Fellowship evenings, Don volunteered to assist his wife with the event which included serving wine. The monthly event started slowly but is growing in popularity with evening Mass goers. Don participated again in the burrito sales, which is both a fund raiser and a fellowship event for our brothers who work it and for members of the parish who patronize it.
Lastly, another fellowship event that Don participated in multiple ways was the Oktoberfest for the parish. His presence at the welcome table uplifted spirits of our guests. He also increased attendance by helping advertise the event after Masses.

Knights Memorialize Those Who Have Passed

In a memorial mass held at 4:30 pm, on Saturday, 2 November, at Our Lady of the Pines, our council prayerfully remembered our dearly departed.  This annual service is held in memory of all those Knights and their family members who have passed before us.  Many of our council members attended and participated in this special service.  Other knights not pictured in this gallery include Bruce Rahn who served as sacristan, Bruce Micciulla who assisted with the pre-mass rosary, Daryl Spano who served as a proclaimer, Javan “J” Ridge who served on the Honor Guard, and Jim Dalrymple who served on the Life Safety Team.
