Family of the Month – The Wermer Family
The cornerstones of the Knights of Columbus mission—Faith, Family, Community, and Life—are clearly exemplified by the Wermer Family. Joan and Jim Wermer are devoted members of our parish. Brother Jim Wermer is a dedicated Knight, contributing tirelessly to many of our Council events. Whether it’s preparing and cooking for burrito sales, youth activities, or the annual picnic, Jim’s commitment and hard work are a constant and valued presence. Joan Wermer, a faithful member of the Ladies Auxiliary is an essential part of the OLP Funeral Lunch Ministry, helping prepare and serve meals to grieving families. Joan extends her service beyond the parish by volunteering twice a week at the Marian House Soup Kitchen and Marketplace, where she helps prepare and distribute food to the homeless of Colorado Springs.
Together, Jim and Joan also support the Council through their management of our General Store, handling the ordering of Knights’ shirts, jackets, hats, and name tags. Additionally, they both volunteered their time and talents to help make the Spring Ball a success.
For their extraordinary service and unwavering dedication to every aspect of the Knights’ and Ladies’ mission, it is with great pleasure that we recognize the Wermer Family as the Family of the Month.
