Council Receives Recognition at State Convention

Past Grand Knight Pierre Gaudreault and current Grand Knight Jim Appleyard attended the KofC Colorado State Convention in Denver. Pierre continues going above and beyond being a delegate but also serving in the Honor Guard for several events during the Conference.

Council 11730 received two awards: St Joseph Award as well as being recognized as the #18 Council of over 140 Council in Colorado.

The St Joseph Award is about our Faith in Action. Councils earn the award for strong performance in: Fraternal benefits/insurance, Membership growth, Program activities, and Overall excellence. Congratulations to all brothers on earning this award. Your dedication to faith, family community and life–truly honors the legacy of Blessed Fr Michael McGivney and the patron St Joseph. Thank you for your hard work, leadership, and example to our parish and diocese.

We were also recognized as one of the Top 25 awards and specifically #18 is an outstanding accomplishment by our Council. This award is determined by cumulative scoring in operations, service and growth on:
– Timely and complete submission of forms and reports to State and Supreme
– Compliance with reporting throughout fraternal year
– Quality and quantity of our programs in Faith, Family, Community and Life and how they are executed and their impact
– Growth in membership, recruitment efforts and retention
With well over 140 active councils across our great state, this ranking is a true testament to your dedication, hard work and commitment to our principles of Charity, Unity and Fraternity that define the Knights. This shows your strong leadership, generosity of our members, and the positive impact you all have on our parish, the Black Forest community, and beyond.

Congratulations to each and everyone of you. Our leadership is proud to serve on your behalf at this year’s Knights of Columbus State Convention.
