This Worthy Sir Knight originally joined the Knights of Columbus in December 1997. He has been a knight for 26 years. He is a past Grand Knight and has served this council throughout his life as a knight. His demeanor is exemplary of a knight that lives his life in service. He is a regular fixture at our burrito events, and he has become a most valuable player when it comes to our breakfast burrito Sundays. In fact, he has single-handedly been responsible for pre-selling breakfast burritos throughout the years, being personally responsible for more than 1000 burritos sold during this past year! He is a living example of what it means to give graciously and selflessly to the causes we support for the parish, the community, and the Knights of Columbus. It is my honor to present our brother, Douglas Jackson, recognition as our Knight of the Year for the 2022-23 Fraternal Year!
This family has a long history with our parish. This Knight joined the order in 1975 and then re-entered the order in 1988 giving him 34 years of service to the Knights, the parish, and the community. The family has been involved in many parish ministries including our councils’ charitable events, leadership activities, aid to Ukraine, just to name a few. You will recognize that one of their sons is also a regular fixture at our events and willingly jumps in to help in any way he can even though is not yet a Knight. His wife is this Knight’s support and is also often seen behind the scenes willing to help. One of the family projects involves way more than most of us realize behind the scenes and it provides our main fundraising for the council, and it is this that family is instrumental in making it happen. It is our honor to recognize Greg, Christine and Mark Sullivan as our Family of the year for the 2022-23 Fraternal Year!
